If staying up to date with the newest smartphone releases is a priority for you, we’ve done the heavy lifting for you.
Check out what giants Apple, Samsung and Huawei has planned - and what’s hot off the press for you to enjoy right now!
What: Apple is notoriously tight-lipped on their upcoming product releases, and you know it’s going to be big when even the announcement of the products is hotly anticipated. With that being said, all we have to go off is rumours at this point in time. If these rumours floating around smartphone circles are correct, Apple is tipped to announce not one, but THREE, new iPhone models sometime in September.
One is expected to be a larger version of the iPhone X, but that’s also just speculation.
Apple fans are geeking out over the rumour that one such new release could include the potential to stream music to multiple speakers. May be time to check out EFM’s Bluetooth speaker range…
When: Sometime in September
What: Samsung’s best selling range has just had the Galaxy Note 9 added to its repertoire in August, and users are eagerly anticipating their items to be shipped. Unfortunately for customers who selected certain colours, they will have to wait a little longer. Shipping in various countries has been pushed to mid-September.
In other Galaxy news, a leak from an insider has confirmed that the Galaxy S10 - the next big release for the brand - will come in THREE variations - maybe to keep up with Apple? Regardless, the S10 - if rumours are true - will be the first smartphone to utilise an ultrasonic sensor and will also feature facial mapping sensors similar to the iPhone X.
The next year is shaping up to be a game-changer for Samsung, as the brand races to complete their Galaxy F release. What makes this model special? Well, it will be the first folding smartphone. That’s right. Not an old-school flip phone. An actual folding phone. But don’t get too excited. Samsung isn’t sure yet whether the folding phone will be released to the masses - or will simply be a one-off creation geared at the brand claiming the title of “first ever folding smartphone.”
When: No confirmed release dates for new models.
What: We’re throwing in a curveball here. After all, Huawei just nabbed the top spot for global smartphone production from tech giant Apple, so we don’t think they are going anywhere soon.
The Chinese company only weeks ago released their Nova 3i model smartphone, and it’s got a feature selfie addicts may appreciate. One camera wasn’t enough for the brand to implement into the new release, this one has FOUR cameras - two at the front and two at the back. It’s also got a pretty impressive memory and huge battery capacity. Keen on winning over the masses, Huawei is definitely on the right track.
